BBC’s coverage of the Israel-Palestine conflict unfair – say protestors

Protestors supporting Palestine carried out a demonstration in Media City to voice their anger at the BBC’s coverage of the conflict.

The belief of the protestors is that the BBC is biased towards Israel and is unfairly reporting on the events in the middle east.

Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist group, carried out an attack during a music festival in Israel earlier this month.

Tensions have been rising ever since and the effect of this has trickled down to the UK.

Police in Manchester have increased surveillance over areas with Muslim and Jewish communities. This mirrors a rise in anti-semitism and islamophobia across the UK.

The BBC is coming under scrutiny from both sides of the debate, who have accused the broadcaster of biased reporting.

A BBC spokesperson said: “Careful consideration has been given to all aspects of our coverage to ensure that we report on developments impartiality and accurately.

“Audiences are coming to the BBC in their millions – looking for information they can trust, expert analysis they can rely on and first-hand, on-the-ground reporting.”
