WATCH: Reckless driver’s hit and run snaps Didsbury victim’s neck

The moment a reckless hit-and-run driver smashed into a Didsbury man and launched him through the air – breaking his neck – has been captured on CCTV.

The 37-year-old pedestrian was crossing Parrs Wood Road at its junction with Wilmslow Road when he was hit by a silver Peugeot 307 at around 10.30pm on Thursday January 29.

The driver, who then made their getaway towards School Lane, left the victim with a broken neck, cuts to his head and a back injury.

Sergeant Iain Lamb said: “We would like to ask anyone who may have seen a car matching this description in the area at the time, or who thinks they recognise the vehicle, to contact us.

“Also, if you know anyone who owns a silver 307 with damage to its front end, please ring the numbers below.

“It is possible the driver may not have realised they hit anyone, but we must speak to the driver as a matter of urgency.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 2993 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
