‘Let us know you’re safe’: Concerns grow for missing Oldham girl, 16

Greater Manchester Police are seriously concerned for the welfare of a teenager who has been missing for eight days.

Kanis Chowdhury, 16, was last seen at her home in the Osborne Street area of Oldham last Tuesday (August 18), but has not been seen since.

Detective Constable Tony Anwas of Oldham division has made an appeal for the teenager to get in touch.

He said: “Police and her family are appealing to Kanis to come home, we are all desperately worried.

“Kanis if you see this, please get in touch so we and your family know you are safe.”


MISSING: Kanis Chowdhury has been missing since August 18

Kanis is Bangladeshi and speaks with an Oldham accent.

She is described as being of slim build, 5ft tall and has collar-length black hair and brown eyes. She speaks with an Oldham accent.

She normally wears Western-style clothes, but also has access to traditional Bangla dress.
