Fancy yourself as Sandy or Danny? Hunt is on for young Grease cast in Manchester stage production

By Tim Hyde

Grease is certainly going to be the word at Manchester Palace Theatre as 85 of the city’s youngsters are set to put on an electrifyin’ production.

And for the ninth year running Stage Experience will reward talented Manchester performers with the opportunity to shine on the big stage.

The theatre will host three nights of Grease, performed entirely by youngsters, as part of an amateur production to give performers experience in the limelight this August.

Actors, singers, dancers and musicians aged 11 – 21 who have been through a successful auditioning process will get their chance to tread the boards.

The performance will be a culmination of a two-week summer project operated by the charity which has already hosted eight successful shows including West End favourites West Side Story, Oliver, Guys and Dolls, Fame and Annie.

The company also allows performers with no prior experience to showcase their talents in front of a live audience and gain an insight into the competitive realities of working in the theatre industry.

The production will run through August 8-10.

Leather jackets are optional.
