Shocking triple stabbing and pub crash: Two men killed and girl, 13, left for dead in Manchester knife attack

A man suspected of murdering a father and leaving a 13-year-old girl fighting for her life in hospital has died after stealing a car and ploughing it into a Harpurhey pub last night.

A 41-year-old man, believed to have been stabbed, was found dead at a house on Delta Walk, Moston, while a 13-year-old girl was rushed to hospital also suffering from what is also believed to be stab wounds. 

In Harpurhey a 34-year-old man, who had threatened a car owner with a knife and stolen their vehicle, drove into the side of the Alliance Pub.

He was taken to hospital suffering from a stab wound and injuries consistent with a collision but died a short while later.

Detective Superintendent Simon Barraclough from the Major Incident Team said: “We are in the very early stages of our inquiries and are piecing together the circumstances that led to two men losing their lives and a 13-year-old girl fighting for her life in hospital. 

“Obviously the community will be shocked as to what has happened but we can say we do not believe anyone else was involved and are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.  

“However, a police presence will remain in the area to offer reassurance and answer any concerns residents may have.” 

At 10.20pm police were called to a house on Delta Walk, Moston following reports of a concern for welfare. 

Officers attended and discovered the body of a 41-year-old man, it is believed he had been stabbed. 

A 13-year-old girl had suffered serious injuries, believed to be stab wounds, and was taken to hospital – she is currently in a critical condition. 

Just before 1am on Monday 29 July 2013, police were called to Watfield Walk, Harpurhey following a man had threatened a car owner with a knife and stolen their vehicle. 

A short time later, the vehicle was seen near Rochdale Road by police and when officers approached, a 34-year-old man drove the vehicle into the side of the Alliance pub. 

He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
