Woman left fighting for life after being ‘pushed’ into Urmston fire – man charged with attempted murder

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was left ‘fighting for her life’ after reportedly being pushed into a fire in Urmston.

David Ogden, 46, of Norwich Road in Stretford, will appear at Trafford Magistrates’ Court today.

The charge comes in relation to an incident where a 42-year-old woman was found in a rural area near Eeasbrook in Urmston on Saturday July 26 suffering extensive burns to her face and body.

Detective Inspector Carl Gilbert said: “This woman has suffered extremely serious burns and is fighting for her life in hospital.

“It is not clear at this stage exactly how the woman came by her injuries.

“We are urging anyone who has any information about what happened on Saturday morning at the site on Eeasbrook to contact us.”

There are few details about events leading up to the incident and police are urging witnesses or anyone with information to contact them as soon as possible.
