Former Manchester United prodigy Ravel Morrison to appear in court charged with assaulting two women

Former Manchester United star Ravel Morrison has been charged with assaulting two women.

The West Ham midfielder, 21, was arrested by police in connection with an incident in the early hours of Sunday morning as well as a city centre attack on Saturday evening.

Morrison, of Urmston, is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court today, charged with a section 47 assault and two common assaults.

Police were called to an address at 3.20am on Alexandra Road, Peel Green, Salford following reports that a 19-year-old and a 39-year-old woman had been assaulted

The charges also relate to an incident outside a bar in Manchester city centre earlier on Saturday evening when the younger woman had also been assaulted.

Morrison was cast out of Old Trafford after falling foul of ex-boss Sir Alex Ferguson in 2012.

England Under-21 midfielder has been the subject of speculation about his future after West Ham manager Sam Allardyce and owner David Sullivan clashed over his place at the club.
