Manchester Board Game Festival brings tabletop gaming to the masses

A Manchester-based tabletop gaming events company held a three day festival last weekend where attendees could meet fellow board gaming fans and try out new games.

Manchester Board Game Festival took place Friday 25th to Sunday 27th April at Sacha’s hotel in the Northern Quarter.

The event was hosted by Dungeons and Flagons, who also run weekly pop up board game cafes at Foundry Project, Bar 532 at University of Manchester, Seven Bro7thers Ancoats, North Taproom and Cloud Water Brewery Taproom.

Gamers had access to an extensive games library, organised role-playing games (RPGs), a raffle to win select games, and charity bingo and quiz which was raising money for the National Autistic Society.

Across the weekend, traders gathered for a two-day Geek Fayre selling everything from games, to handcrafted die and even clay polymer earrings.

The festival is set to return for a further three weekends this year including Halloween and Christmas editions.
