Watch: Oldham Athletic fans fight for the future of their club

Oldham Athletic is a football club at war with its ownership.

Since Abdallah Lemsagam and his brother Mohammed took over in January 2018 it’s been a tale of relegations, unpaid wages and incremental decline.

This season they became the first ever former Premier League team to be relegated out of the Football League, marking a new low.

The fans – for their part – have fought tooth and nail with the Lemsagam’s, organising matchday protests, marching a coffin through the town and fundraising to increase their stake in the club.

In this video Mancunian Matters chats to Matt Dean from Oldham Athletic Supporters Foundation and Steve Shipman from Push the Boundary, two fan groups directly involved in the fight for their club’s future.
