‘Focussed on England’: Dutch star Kevin Strootman eyeing Manchester United move, agent claims

By Alex Bysouth

Long-term Manchester United target Kevin Strootman’s agent claims the Dutch international has his eyes set on a move to the Premier League.

The PSV midfielder looks ready to decide his future after retunring from the under 21 European Championships, where he captained the Netherlands to a semi-final spot.

David Moyes is known to be a keen admirer and, after Serie A outfit Napoli showed an interest, agent Chiel Dekker confirmed the 23-year-old is keen on a move to England.

“He is focussed on England because that would suit his style,” Dekker told ITV.

“He has the physique, the character and the fitness for it. I am certainly not afraid he could handle that level.”

However, Dekker says impressive performances this season from Strootman – capped 18 times by the senior side – mean only England’s top clubs can afford him.

“Kevin has ambition but it is not in my hands,” he added.

“From PSV it would have to be a step up to a good club. It is not simple though because the price will be expensive and not many teams can afford him.

“The clubs know what he can do now. It is up to them whether they want to reach an agreement with PSV and take him.”
