Tell me where I stand or I go: Bayern Munich target Micah Richards after season on Manchester City bench

By Colin Rhodes

Injury-ravaged City star Micah Richards could be leaving Manchester as German champions Bayern Munich have their sights set on him.

The 25-year-old, who still has two-years left on his contract, is hugely admired by new Bayern boss Pep Guardiola.

Richards has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad following season plagued by injury which saw him make just seven starts for the Blues.

He faces stiff competition to reclaim his place at right-back with Pablo Zabeleta and Brazilian star Maicon competing for the same position.

A bid of around £14million might be enough to tempt City to let Richards leave the club, according to the Daily Star.

A source told the paper: “Micah wants to know where he stands with his new manager and will then look at his options.

“Bayern have made some enquiries and if a club of that stature wants to sign you, then you have to give it serious thought.”

Richards has also attracted interest from Inter Milan but a move to the Champions League holders might be too hard to turn down.
