Police are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted as she withdrew money from a cash machine in Altrincham.

The incident occured at 4.30pm on Wednesday March 4, when a man approached the 28-year-old victim from behind at an ATM on Moss Lane.

He sexually assaulted her by touching and ran off towards Altrincham Interchange.  He was then seen getting on the 11a bus towards Stockport.

Police have now issued the photo of a man they would like to speak to following the incident.

DO YOU RECOGNISE THIS MAN? GMP are appealing for information

Police Constable Katie Colebrook said: “The victim could not believe the offender had assaulted her in such a way and in broad daylight.

"I would ask anyone who may have been in the Moss Lane area and witnessed what happened to contact us.

“I would also appeal to those who recognise the person in the image and to the person himself to call us so we can eliminate him from our enquiries.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 7530 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
