Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley swaps cobbles for Selfridges for some festive fun

Rovers Return favourite Catherine Tyldesley swapped the famous cobbles for more luxurious surroundings of Selfridges this week to launch the store’s new pub. 

Catherine – who plays Coronation Street barmaid Eva Price – was invited along to the pop-up The Exchange Arms to pull the first pint. 

And it’s clear the actress is a huge fan of festive fun.

She said: “I love Christmas shopping and the atmosphere in the city centre as everyone is rushing about and picking presents for loved ones.

“Enjoying a festive tipple or joining in a pub quiz is the perfect way to finish off a busy shopping day.”

FESTIVE FUN: Catherine pulls the first pint at Selfridges’ new pop-up pub

The tasting, on December 6, will see an expert host from ABC brewery take punters through techniques in testing and analysing six Manchester beers.

The pub itself has been supplied with special craft ales by the brewery for throughout the time it will be open.

It can be found on the Menswear section of the department store and will be open until December 7.
