‘Nothing really concrete’: Micah Richards’ agent cools talk of Manchester City to Inter Milan move

By John McDougall

City defender Micah Richards may be on his way from Manchester to Milan after his Italian agent confirmed interest from Serie A giants Internazionale.

The 25-year-old made only seven Premier League appearances last season due to injuries and Pablo Zabaleta’s form, who was voted right-back in the PFA’s Team of the Year.

And Richards’ agent, Dario Canovi, revealed Inter have been in touch with Manuel Pellegrini’s side over his availability, but the San Siro club are yet to make a bid.

“I know that there is interest from Inter for the player,” he told FCInterNews.it.

“Contacts between the two clubs are between them. Inter have contacts with Alexander Livac, the British agent with whom I work.

“He had telephone contact with those at Inter, but there is still nothing really concrete.”

The Leeds-born defender is a City academy product who made his debut against Arsenal under ex-City boss Stuart Pearce.

He has gone on to make 232 appearances for the Etihad Stadium club, scoring ten goals during his time under five different City managers.

Under previous boss Roberto Mancini, he won two trophies including the 2011 FA Cup and the 2011-12 Premier League title.

A move could help revive his international career too, having earned the last of his 28 England caps with a substitute appearance against France in November 2010.

Inter – who won a memorable treble in 2010 under Jose Mourinho – finished last season in a disappointing ninth place in Serie A.
