A Salford brewery has created a limited-edition beer in collaboration with Salford Pride to help raise money for the LGBT+ community.

Seven Bro7hers, a Manchester-based craft brewery, unveiled its Salford Pride Session Beer during a celebration event on Saturday at their Brewery close to MediaCityUK.

The event brought music, food stalls, performers, and drag queens together to celebrate all things LGBT+ and introduce people to the new light and hazy session IPA.

10p from every can and pint sold will go directly back to Salford Pride and its annual Pink Picnic event.

Beth Atton de Sa, event supervisor at Seven Bro7hers, said the event was “the biggest party” the brewery had held to date - with over 400 guests attending the evening.

“The company, and everyone involved, is completely LGBT+ friendly and supports LGBT+ rights and that’s what this party is all about: inclusivity and enjoying the beer!”

The beer marks a second collaboration between the family-run business and Salford Pride. 500 bottles of a Pride-themed gin were recently unveiled by Sis4ers Distillery, the literal sister company to Seven Bro7hers.

Held on Saturday June 22, Salford Pride’s Pink Picnic will take place at Peel Park and will feature a line-up including Surie, the UK’s Eurovision entry in 2018. Livin Joy, Kelly Wilde, and Lloyd Daniels will also be performing.

Lee Bowditch, Chief Executive Officer of Salford Pride, told Mancunian Matters that this year’s Pride event will be bigger than ever.

“We’re doing a dog pageant show, which is new this year, and we’re bringing a lot of the community acts back as well.

“We’ve gone into full partnership with Salford University, and will be holding an event next month called Sing where the winner will get to perform on the Picnic stage.”
