Game On! Rio Ferdinand and Sergio Aguero rivalry heads east with Singapore face-off in Singlish, tricks and… tai chi

Sergio Aguero and Rio Ferdinand are taking the famed Manchester rivalry one step further – by travelling to Singapore for a series of oriental challenges.

The duo will fly to Singapore to duel it out for the two-day, Game On! Ultimate Selfie Challenge eventon May 15 and 16.

Challenges will range from a crash-course in Singlish, Colloquial Singaporean English, to showing off their best football tricks.

They will also practice Tai Chi and try local street food at the Maxwell Food Centre.

Ferdinand announced the event in a video on his Facebook page, where he invited fans to send in questions for him and Aguero in an online press conference.

Ferdinand challenged Aguero to prove his mettle in the video as they invited fans to get up close and personal with them at the event.

Fans were encouraged to nominate activities that embodied Singapore’s culture for the two to compete it.

The players also asked their fans to take selfies showing off their football skills, with the hashtag #SGGameOn.

Ferdinand and Aguero will choose their favourite tweet and then treat the lucky winner to a meal at an exclusive restaurant.

“Kun, do you think you’re ready for this?” asked Ferdinand.

Aguero already has bragging rights over the veteran United centre-back.

Manchester City have all but claimed the Premier League title, after taking a two point lead over title favourites Liverpool.

City need to secure a point in this Sunday’s clash with West Ham to be crowned champions.

United’s fortunes meanwhile have gone from bad to worse, after manager David Moyes was sacked after just 10 months in the top job.

Aguero is now preparing for the World Cup with Argentina while Ferdinand’s future is up in the air with United as the veteran defender is yet to be offered a contract extension.
