Fresh from netting a beauty for Japan, Manchester United’s forgotten playmaker Shinji Kagawa has lashed out at David Moyes for ostracizing him from the Reds’ opening matches.
The former Dortmund man has found himself out in the cold after Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure with United’s new boss favouring Danny Welbeck and Wayne Rooney.
Kagawa was heavily linked with a return to Germany this summer and, after not being included in United’s squad to face Liverpool, speculation about the midfielder is persisting.
“Please ask David Moyes why I’m not in the side,” Kagawa told the AFP news agency.
“It is frustrating not playing but to score a goal like that gives me confidence.
“Hopefully I can take that back to my club with me and things will improve.”
The wily ‘number ten’ admitted that he is finding life difficult at United but remains confident that he can take his chance when it arrives.
“It’s hard not playing regularly. Some days the frustration is worse than others; it comes in waves,” he said.
“I just have to keep working hard and keep working hard and keep pushing for my chance. When I get back it will be a challenge to get into the team.
“When I get back to my club I have to wait for my chance in the Champions League and the Premier League. I’m sure my chance will come.”
