‘I like him because he’s a nasty player’: Manchester City bad boy Carlos Tevez wanted by AC Milan vice-president

By John McDougall

Wantaway Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez would be welcomed with open arms at AC Milan, according to the Italian giant’s vice-president Adriano Galliani.

Tevez, 29, has had a chequered history at the Etihad Stadium and has a year left on his contract, with the club yet to start negotiations over a new deal.

And 68-year-old Galliani believes the Argentinian forward would be welcome addition to the Rossoneri’s squad, especially given previous dealings between the clubs.

“I have not talked to Tevez, but I might do so in the future. Either way, we are not doing anything illegal by talking to the player,” he told Goal.com.

“We have not opened talks with City at the moment, but they know that we have been their best customers in recent years. We took Robinho, Nigel de Jong and Mario Balotelli from them.

“I like Carlos a lot because he’s a nasty player.”

The striker has spent four seasons with City since controversially moving in 2009 from bitter rivals Manchester United, winning the FA Cup and the Premier League.

His Citizens career has had controversies, including being frozen out by ex-boss Roberto Mancini for six months for refusing to come off the bench against Bayern Munich in September 2011.

After scoring 73 goals in 148 City appearances, his form has also allegedly attracted Milan’s Serie A rivals Juventus, but Galliani is confident of bringing Tevez to the San Siro.

“Tevez would not betray me by going to Juventus. He would accept a big pay-cut to come to us,” he said.

“I have not heard anything from Juventus and I don’t know why they would have any reason to be upset.”
