Manchester’s trendiest restaurant cooks up a storm for gourmet dinner featuring pigeon, lobster and wine galore

One of Manchester’s most captivating restaurants, Room, is hosting a gourmet dinner next month, inviting diners to dip into the world of fine-dining.

The dinner is hosted by Hallgarten Druitt Wines, and will have seven courses ranging from pigeon and lamb to lobster and plaice.

The first course will be rocket, ginger beer and lemon served with refreshing Peter Lehmann Princess Moscato from Australia.

Next jersey royals, lobster, nasturtium and lobster dashi will be washed down with the classic flavours of Duca di Castelmonte, Dinari del Duca Grillo – a real taste of the Mediterranean.

Presse of pigeon and ham, brûléed duck liver, rhubarb and sorrel will follow with Gaia Wild Ferment Assyrtiko of Greece, made from some of the oldest vines of the world.

The last of the fish courses, plaice with langoustine, roe, burnt butter and seashore herbs, served with Ventolera, Litoral Sauvignon Blanc, Chile.

For the final and main savoury course of the evening, a superb lamb loin cooked with wild garlic, trompette, fricassée of peas with lamb bacon and lamb broth, will be accompanied by the beautiful taste of Boer & Brit – an innovative wine from two brilliant young wine producers.

Before dessert, a selection of cheeses with Barros Port Colheita of Portugal, will prepare you for the rich and gooey textures of millionaire’s shortbread, toffee ice cream and Elysium Black Muscat, USA.
