Salford horror smash: Man charged with causing death by dangerous driving after couple killed in crash

A 27-year-old man has been charged after a three-car horror smash that claims the lives of a young couple in Salford on Sunday.

Carl David Wood, of St James Street, Farnworth, is due to appear in court today charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous.

Aaron Tulsa Jones, a 19-year-old from Horwich, and his girlfriend Amy Louise Hobson, 22, were killed when the Vauxhall Corsa they were travelling in collided with an Audi RS3 and S3 at 4.55pm on East Lancashire Road, near to the junction with Barton Road.

A 25-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving remains in hospital for treatment and has been bailed while he receives treatment.

Mr Jones was pronounced dead at the scene, while Ms Hobson was taken to hospital with serious injuries but later died.
