Ahead of the 2025 England korfball grand finals on Sunday 18 May, we visited a local club to see the mixed-gender sport in action at grassroots level.
Played by two teams of eight, made of four men and four women, korfball is a combination of netball and basketball, with its own unique rules.
Players aim to score by throwing a ball into a netless basket, known as a korf, while remaining in their designated zones, which they switch after two goals.
Finals day will be held at the K2 Sports Complex in Crawley, culminating in the Premier Division Grand Final between Bec and Bristol Thunder.
At the heart of the sport’s growing community are clubs like Manchester Korfball Club, based at Sale Leisure Centre.
