The LGBT Foundation held an exciting launch on Thursday 26th June as part of its ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations.
Its archival exhibition aims to showcase the foundation’s incredible reach and impact over the last half a century, and the Rainbow Arts Trail, the works of which can be found dotted across the city centre.
The event’s speakers included the CEO, a prominent politician, former and current volunteers and the 50th Anniversary project manager, all with a shared passion and vision to uphold the stories and rights of queer people.
Other announcements included an upcoming Community Playlist Live event and collaboration with The Warehouse Project, to continue the 50-year celebrations to the end of the year.
The organisation, formed 2 January 1975 as a helpline, has since grown into one of the UK’s leading LGBTQ+ charities, offering a wide range of services across health and wellbeing.
The exhibition will run until December 2025, and the Rainbow Arts Trail until September 2025.
