Manchester art trail leaves lasting mark after BRITs takeover

The BRIT Awards Manchester Art Trail transformed the city centre into a vibrant, open-air gallery, with installations spanning the Northern Quarter and Ancoats.

The initiative was part of the city’s celebrations as it hosted the BRIT Awards, with Town Centre Securities and Wild In Art partnering up to curate the artwork.

At Piccadilly Basin and surrounding areas, TCS played a key role by showcasing several large-scale artworks across its estate, helping to draw visitors through some of Manchester’s busiest neighbourhoods.

Featuring work from 21 North West artists, the trail brought music-inspired visuals into everyday public spaces.

Speaking about the area, Matthew Wright, Associate Director at TCS, said: “We want to bring people down there – we want it to be a welcoming place for people to get from one part of Manchester to another.”

He added: “It’s just the start of what we want to do.”

The trail has left a lasting impression of Manchester’s creative identity, with attention now turning to what Town Centre Securities does next in the area.
