Former WWE wrestler Diamond Dallas Page piledrives into Manchester Comedy Store for Q&A

Former WWE wrestler turned yoga instructor ‘Diamond’ Dallas Page hopes to deliver a piledriving Q&A session when he slams into the Manchester Comedy Store this week.

The three-time WCW World Champion will call into the Deansgate venue on Wednesday, sharing stories of his life on the road and working with some of the biggest names in the industry.

For Page, 58, Manchester is one of his seven stops on the Bang: An Audience with Diamond Dallas Page tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland.

“I’m very excited,” Page said. “I have a lot of stories to tell and I feel like people want to hear them.

“Everyone wants to know what goes on behind the scenes in wrestling, so now’s their chance to ask and to learn.

“I think people will go through the ringer of emotions, some of my stories are very funny; while some will leave people choked up.”

Although Page is most famous for his time at Eric Bischoff’s WCW promotion, he went on to have spells with both WWE and TNA before retiring in 2009 to concentrate on other projects.

Page now runs DDP Yoga, a revolutionary fitness model which has been adopted by wrestling stars such as Chris Jericho, Ryback and Goldust.

As well as yoga, Page has picked up several acting roles including a role in the upcoming film, Vengeance, with Machete star Danny Trejo.

“Wrestling definitely prepared me for lots of other forms of entertainment,” said the former WWE European Champion.

“I feel like I’ve been performing my whole life so to go into acting and motivational speaking was a smooth transition.”

Page was seen most recently on WWE programming during January’s ‘Old School’ edition of Monday Night RAW, but now insists he has no plans to return to the squared circle.

He added: “The last time I was in a ring, I hit a Diamond Cutter on Heath Slater.

“I’ll be very happy if that winds up being the last time I have step between the ropes.”
