Internationally renowned Aussie cool-cats The Cat Empire are set to burst onto the Manchester music scene this autumn… decreeing that all subjects of their Empire shalt party.
They are celebrating the release of their fourth album, Steal The Light, with their biggest world tour yet, playing in more than 60 countries and three continents in just four months.
When it comes to The Cat Empire, ‘alternative’ doesn’t quite cut it.
The band draws on an eclectic range of influences rendering them virtually impossible to categorise by genre – that is, unless, neo-latino-soul-funky-jazz, with a sprinkle of gypsy-ska counts.
But what these genre-busting groovsters are renowned for is being an absolutely killer live act.
Their improvisational energy, combined with their creed – that it doesn’t matter what they’re playing as long as people are dancing, ensure that The Cat Empire certainly don’t exist without their crowd.
In what promises to be an explosion of melody and rhythm, these humanitarian jazz musicians aim to provide a feel-good natural high to their legions of adoring fans.
The Cat Empire will be touring the UK throughout October and will land in Manchester at The Ritz on October 24.
