Chappell Roan fans ‘Hot To Go’ at the Manchester Academy

From Prince Eric to ‘Pink Pony’ chic – Manchester’s Chappell Roan fans were dressed to impress for her Manchester gig.

Chappell fever took Manchester by storm on Friday September 13, with concert-goers arriving at the Manchester Academy as early as 7am to secure front row seats.

Glitz and sparkle are all central to Roan’s trademark – with Mermaid chosen as Manchester’s clothing theme.

Freya Dilon and Katie Spencer, 20, wore glamorous outfits inspired by Roan’s songs ‘Pink Pony Club’ and ‘Casual’.

The Staffordshire residents said: “We decided that we were picking our own themes because Chappell’s announcement of the theme for Manchester was cutting it quite fine.”

Kentucky, USA resident, Sara Von Roenn, expressed a similar frustration at the sudden announcement of theme for the show, as they had planned a different outfit originally.

Von Roenn, who flew nearly 4,000 miles to see the pop icon, said: “I knew I wanted to wear these boots and I wasn’t going to change that for anything and everything else was just a hodgepodge from there.”

Von Roenn rocked a black sequin jacket, homemade t-shirt, mermaid shorts and a pair of sunglasses.

The sudden theme announcement caused last minute outfit switches for many, but one ensemble took the Mermaid theme to new dimensions.

Sam Millard, 18, was inspired by Disney’s The Little Mermaid, as a real-life Prince Eric.

The Wellingborough resident created the look with a red scarf, white shirt, a pair of blue jeans and black boots – in a modern take on the Disney prince.

Millard was only one of many excited fans who embraced Roan’s bold and stylish fashion sense – from eye catching cowgirls to mystic mermaids – in a fairy tale night they would not forget any time soon.
