Return of the Ewok! Comic Con stalwart and Star Wars actor Warwick Davis to attend 2014 convention

Star Wars and Harry Potter star Warwick Davis is the latest special guest to be confirmed for this weekend’s Manchester Comic Con.

The world-famous actor who played Ewok Wicket in Return Of The Jedi and Professor Filius Flitwick in the Harry Potter movies, was only revealed on Wednesday but the news has already captured the attention of thousands of fans from all over the UK.

Mr Davis will be arriving at Manchester Central on Saturday where he will spend the day meeting fans, signing autographs, and appearing onstage to promote his latest film, Ashens And The Quest For The Gamechild.

Fellow friends and entertainers Robert Llewellyn, of Red Dwarf fame, and YouTube star Stuart Ashen will be joining Mr Davis onstage, and have been showing their enthusiasm for the weekend via Twitter.

From The Leprechaun horror franchise to Ricky Gervais’s comedy Life’s Too Short, Mr Davis has a versatile acting quality that allows him to appeal to a wide audience.

After 2013’s event achieved a record-breaking 19,340 attendees in a single day, it was soon announced 2014 will be the first year Manchester’s Comic Con event will last the entire weekend.

A Manchester Comic Con spokesman said: “Having seen how popular the show has become, we’ve decided to add an extra day to MCM Manchester Comic Con, so we’re looking forward to seeing you over the whole weekend when we return to Manchester Central on 19-20 July 2014”.

With a two-day convention of special guests, costume competitions, gaming zones and never ending stalls, this year’s Manchester Comic Con is predicted to be its biggest year yet.
