The Lathums releasing new music next week… and fans can’t get enough

Chart-toppers The Lathums say they are “very pleased” to be releasing new music later this month.

‘Thoughts Of a Child’ will be out on September 29 and the Wigan band have also teased a new album is on the way – thrilling their army of fans.

Currently travelling Europe supporting ex-One Direction star Louis Tomlinson on his Faith in the Future world tour, the band have set time aside to record new music as a follow up to their No.1 album ‘From Nothing to a Little Bit More’.

Taking to X to share a live clip of the new song, the band posted: “We’re very excited to be taking our next steps towards a new record together.”

The new single is available to pre-save and fans of the band – who been thirsting for new music since March – shared their enthusiasm for the news on social media.

Hannah Sophie posted: “YESSS!!! I’m so excited!!!”

Sheffield band, The Madisons, wrote: “Worlds cannot describe how much we love this video.”

Fans are already hoping for further news surrounding the single, as Jacob Ratcliffe said: “I NEED this on vinyl!”

While another tweeted: “It’s gonna be a tune.”

Some lucky fans have already listened to the unreleased single in full, as the band added it to their opening set on September 8 in Lithuania, leading to calls for the song’s immediate release.

Fans on Instagram begged to have the song in their music libraries, with Bram Oplaat commenting: “RELEASE IT!! OR TELL US WHEN!!”

The Wigan four-piece burst onto the scene in 2019, with hits including ‘The Great Escape’ and ‘Fight On’ which garnered them enough attention to secure two number one albums in the UK.

The Lathums – who earned rave reviews for their Glastonbury slot earlier this summer – will be supporting rock band Keane next May.
