The UK may well be a nation of animal lovers but it seems that Manchester has the monopoly on the country’s most adorable animals.
Here at MM we’ve been going potty for the city’s prettiest pooches who have a penchant for fashion, eating on the hoof (or paw) and wide-spread adulation.
Dita Von Pug, like her vintage name-sake, loves nothing more than strutting her stuff in canine couture, hanging out with her pug crew and going for long walks in the country.
We dubbed her the cutest dog in Manchester because of her beautiful face and cheeky personality… but then there was Maurice.
Maurice’s owner threw down the gauntlet and declared that her French Bulldog was worthy of the cutest canine crown.
As the email landed in my inbox we were sceptical… what more could this dog bring to the table?
But when we first laid eyes on him even the less sentimental chaps in the office ‘awwed’ the pictures before quickly clearing their throats and throwing themselves all too eagerly into a post-match analysis.
So now we’re challenging our MM readers – does your pet have what it takes to be crowned Manchester’s Cutest Pet Competition 2014?
We’re looking for creatures great and small from hamsters to horses and every fluffy, furry or scaly pet you can think of.
All you need to do is email us at newsdesk ( at ) mancunianmatters ( dot ) co (dot) uk or clicking here, sending the name, age and type of pet you have along with a couple of pictures in their *cutest* pose and a short write-up of why they should scoop the honour.
A shortlist of finalists will be decided before the vote goes to the public!
Of course, there will be an suitably good prize to impress both yourself and your furry friend… watch this space for the announcement.
So what are you waiting for? If you know have, or know of someone with a gorgeous pet, we’d love to hear from you!
Closing date for entries is March 28 2014. Good luck!
