Manchester’s oldest charity is thanking its users and volunteers with its second three-course meal and awards night, taking place this year in the V&A Marriott Hotel.
Henshaws Society for Blind People only has a few tickets left for this year’s Pride of Henshaws awards night – a ‘black tie with a bright colourful twist’ event.
The Royal Northern College of Music will be on hand to provide entertainment, and attendees will be treated to a drinks reception, as well as the meal and ceremony.
“We are proud to work with some incredible people, who often face difficult challenges because of their disabilities,” said Henshaws chief executive Nick Marr.
“They regularly surprise us with the strength and commitment they display to overcome these hurdles and live the life they choose.”
Four awards will be given, including the Technology Star Award, the Volunteer Award, the No Fear Award and the Gillian Lawrence Award, named after the charity’s chairwoman who died two years ago.
Nominees were decided by Henshaws staff, and winners will receive special certificates, and there will be £500 for the winner of the Gillian Lawrence Award.
Nick added: “We want to continue celebration that hard work and achievements that everyone has made to make Henshaws Society for Blind People a truly inspirational place.”
The Pride of Henshaws night will take place on November 22 at 7.00pm, in Water Street’s V&A Marriott Hotel. Tickets cost £75, and all proceeds will go to Henshaws Society for Blind People.
