‘Stories of loyalty, devotion and trust’: Hunt begins for Manchester’s best friends

The hunt is on for Manchester’s ‘best friend of the year’.

Greater Manchester’s ‘Best Friend of the Year 2015’ competition is now taking entries, and the winner will be invited to a production of Snow Queen with their best friend and six others.

Z-Arts, a Manchester family arts venue, are also offering the competition winner two family tickets to Manchester Ice Rink, and free food and drinks in the theatre cafe.

The competition organisers are asking for the people of Manchester, young and old, to recognise their best friends by telling stories about why they deserve to be Best Friend of the Year 2015.

The winning entry could talk about how your best friend is always making you laugh, has been there for you in a time of need, or is especially kind and generous.

A  Z-Arts spokesman said: “Friends become inseparable for special reasons and are there for each other when the going gets tough, as well as sharing moments of joy. But, who will be nominated ‘Best Friend of the Year’?

“Z-arts, Manchester’s specialist venue for family arts events, and their panel of judges are looking for stories of loyalty, devotion and trust to recognise the person who has shown deep and caring friendship over the past year, offering the winner an unforgettable, festive trip to the theatre as Guest of Honour.”

To enter the contest, send in the name of the person being nominated and a brief description of why they should win, along with your name and contact details.

These can be sent via email to [email protected] or by post to: Best Friend, Z-arts, 335 Stretford Road, Manchester, M15 5ZA.

The closing date is Friday, November 13.
