Watch: When Red Bull Featured took over Manchester Central

The newest BMX competition hit Manchester last month with crowds treated to world-first tricks.

Held in Manchester’s Exhibition Centre on it drew a huge crowd who witnessed the world’s best riders battle it out to be crowned Featured champion.

A group of 12 men and women tackled four huge structures in heats to bag a trick which no one had landed before.

Mancunian Matters spoke to BMX’s first ever Olympic gold medallist Charlotte Worthington who judged the event on April 12.

She said: “There are no other ramps in the world that are as big as this, and that just opens a door of opportunity for craziness to go down.

“BMX is a very visual sport, you don’t need to know the ins and outs to know that if someone’s upside down, then that’s crazy.”

Olympic silver medallist Kieran Riley and the USA’s Hannah Roberts were crowned the first ever Featured champions.
