Manchester Phoenix owner believes ‘best is yet to come’ for Tony Hand’s troops

Manchester Phoenix remain positive going into another weekend of English Premier League fixtures despite losing three out of three matches last week.

Tony Hand’s side face Guildford Flames away on Saturday, having already beaten the side at home last month.

Phoenix return to Deeside on Sunday to face a familiar foe in the Swindon Wildcats, who they have already faced three times since August with a win apiece and a draw.

Both of this weekend’s opponents sit above Phoenix in the table however owner Neil Morris is pleased with how the team has performed despite injuries to key players.

“We have taken points from every weekend and we’ve won some really big games since the injuries hit.

“If you can see what your problems are you can afford to be positive.”

Morris is optimistic of the team’s chance this weekend.

“It’s hard to go into weekends when you haven’t got your full strength squad.

“I’ve been impressed this week, the team looks good and the boys have tried really hard in training.

“I’m quietly confident that we’re strong enough to come away with points this weekend.

“We’re not a million miles away from getting the full squad back healthy so the best is yet to come.”
