3-0? That’s the least we can do! David Moyes promises even more after resounding Manchester United victory

By Scott Hunt

Manchester United manager David Moyes believes there is much more to come from his side after their comfortable win away at Aston Villa.

A double from Danny Welbeck and a third from Tom Cleverley ensured United bounced back from successive league defeats and win their first in four domestic games.

Despite the impressive 3-0 performance, Moyes thinks his team can play even better.

“It was a good job done – the players played well,” Moyes told MUTV and Sky Sports.

“I think we’ll play much better than that. I’ve told the players that is the least we can do, we’ve got to keep going and keep winning more games.

The win moved United up to eighth in the Premier League table, still seven points off the top four but having closed the gap on leaders Arsenal following their defeat by Manchester City.

It was a performance which saw United’s young players win the game with impressive displays from Welbeck, Cleverley and Adnan Januzaj.

The win took some pressure of Moyes and his players after a run of poor form in the league.

At this stage last season United were 17 points better off and were riding high at the top of the Premier League table.

Twelve months on and new manager Moyes feels it is time for them to score more goals and improve results.

“The fact we’ve not been scoring goals changes the way the games have looked,” Moyes said.

“But we know we have to play better as well, and we have to play better than we did today again.

“It continually has to improve and it will improve and I’ll make sure it gets better in the coming month.”

United move onto Capital One Cup action on Wednesday where they travel to Stoke before taking on West Ham in the league at Old Trafford on Saturday.
