The clock is ticking: Manchester City issued asking price deadline if they want to get hands on Stevan Jovetic

By Marios Papaloizou

Manchester City are being warned they have until Friday to meet the asking price for Stevan Jovetic if they wish to sign the Montenegrin star.

The Corriere Fiorentino has reported that the Italian club Fiorentina are losing patience with Manchester City’s reluctance in meeting their £26million asking price.

A strict ultimatum has now been imposed in order to bring a resolution to the protracted negotiations.

Having already signed Mario Gomez from Bayern Munich, Fiorentina are prepared to lose Jovetic – but only if the price is right.

It is widely believed that a deal between the clubs will be struck and with a deadline now in place this is likely to be sooner rather than later, as the Blues are no doubt eager to bolster their diminished strikforce.
