Bolton’s Amir Khan celebrates biggest victory of his career… becoming father for first time

Bolton’s biggest boxing star Amir Khan is celebrating another triumphant victory this morning… the birth of his first child.

The boxing superstar made the announcement to his legion of Twitter fans earlier today.

His Pakistani-American wife, Faryal Makhdoom, gave birth to a baby girl in the early hours of this morning.

The couple married last May 2013 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, after getting engaged in January 2012.

He tweeted: “Faryal and I are delighted to announce the birth our first child Lamysa Khan everyone doing very well, thank you for all your wishes.”

He later posted pictures their their new pride and joy, which they have named Lamysa.


Earlier this month Khan stepped back in the ring, cruising to a unanimous points victory over Luis Collazo, picking up the vacant WBC Silver and WBA International Welterweight titles.

It was the former two-time world champion’s first bout for more than 12 months, and his fist at Welterwight having previously fought professionally at Light-welterweight.

Having impressed against the tough American, Khan is expected to face one of boxing’s biggest names later this year, with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao mooted as possible opponents.
