England bowler James Anderson urges Lancashire faithful to snap up Ashes tickets at Old Trafford

By Ross McLean

Lancashire and England fast-bowler James Anderson has urged fans to take advantage of more tickets being made available for the return of Ashes Test cricket to Old Trafford.

An additional allocation has been released for all five days of August’s Test against Australia– the first in Manchester since the epic draw in the 2005 Ashes series.

And Anderson – who recently took his 300th Test wicket – is keen for as many cricket lovers as possible to witness the Ashes spectacle at Lancashire’s new-look home.

“With the speed in which the original allocation of tickets sold out, I can only advise people to hurry and buy them before they all go,” he said.

“The ground has had some fantastic Ashes battles over the years and I am certain that the one in August will be memorable.

“Since the re-development, Emirates Old Trafford looks stunning – probably as good as any of the venues I have played in throughout my career.

“And I’m delighted that there are some additional tickets for cricket lovers.”

The original supply of tickets for the first four days of the match (August 1 – August 5) were sold out but a limited amount are now available on a first come, first served basis.

Prices start at £40 for adults and £20 for those under the age of 16.

Tickets can be bought online by visiting www.lccc.co.uk/ticket or by calling 0161 282 4040
