Andy Burnham has vowed to crackdown on organised crime and restore pride in local high streets, if elected in Makerfield
Labour held on to Makerfield by 4,470 votes but saw their majority more than halve in a strong night for the pro-Brexit parties.
Labour’s Yvonne Fovargue won the seat in 2017 with a majority of 28,245 votes giving her 60.2% of the vote – an 8.4% rise compared to 2015.
