Cool-est collaboration? Manchester City look to increase revenue with Thailand cola drinks partnership

Micah Richards and Scott Sinclair were in Bangkok yesterday to announce Manchester City’s first regional partnership in Thailand.

The club is said to be ‘delighted’ with the new two-year partnership that will see est Cola become the Club’s Official Soft Drinks Partner in Thailand, and will further bolster City’s presence throughout South East Asia.

The fast growing soda giant has a cult-like following in Thailand despite being in only its second year of trading.

Tom Glick, the clubs Chief Commercial and Operating Officer, said: “est Cola is a young dynamic brand with huge potential. 

“We’re proud to be part of est Cola’s journey and look forward to working together to engage and inspire Thailand’s legions of football fans.”

Thailand is a potentially huge market for the blues and the move looks set to secure a large increase in revenue for the club.

Richards, the club’s longest serving player, and Sinclair, are in Bangkok as part of a week-long visit that will see the players take part in partnership activations and meet local Blues fans, before jetting off to the Indonesian Capital, Jakarta.

The President of Sermsuk Public Company Limited, who own est Cola, Dhitivute Bulsook said: “est Cola look forward to working in partnership with Manchester City.

“Through collaboration and innovation, both brands are poised to expand their customer and fan bases nationally, delivering the cool-est and most comprehensive football experience for Thai consumers to enjoy.”

As a result of the deal, City players have featured in est Cola’s latest television advertisement that will be aired across the country’s population of 69million.

In addition, City players and the club crest will also feature in both above and below the line advertising campaigns, as well as at in store points-of-sale throughout est Cola’s vast sales networks in supermarkets and shops. 

The club are currently in the process of launching a Thai version of their official website – the site is due to go live this month.
