The Vega Diaries: James Martin burns up the race track and Manchester235 go all Rocky Horror for Halloween

By Dan Kelly

TV chef James Martin cutting you up on the racetrack, the restaurant fully booked for weekends until Christmas and men in suspenders … it’s all in a day’s work here at Manchester235.

After two major launches in the last six months everything has been hectic to say the least, but it’s all been worthwhile to admire the stunning surroundings of James Martin Manchester.

I would love to kick back, relax and enjoy it as hundreds of customers already have but we are so busy over the next few weeks in the run up to Halloween, I’ll have to take a rain check.

And it’s not just James who’s a new recruit – we’ve brought a whole new back of house team in for the launch which could have been problematic.

But instead everyone has gelled together really quickly which was helped along by our team-building day at the Daytona Motorsport track.

James Martin, as I’m sure you know, is a big petrol head so it came as little surprise when he took the chequered flag at the end of day. (You won’t believe how seriously he takes it, ha!)

As a proud Aussie I always want to win, but sometimes you’ve just got to let the boss take the victory…

It’s a good job the team are already so cohesive as the restaurant is jam-packed from now up to Christmas.

And if that’s not enough to whet your appetite we’ve got some fantastic events lined up for Halloween.

In Oz we’re not particularly big on the whole ghoulish shenanigans, but we know you guys like to go for it… not as bad as our Americans cousins though, that goes without saying.

It falls on a Thursday this year, so we thought we’d give you a few days to recover before you go out trick-or-treating, which is why our Fright Night is taking place on Saturday October 26.

It’s free to everyone and you can enjoy our specially-created cocktails and creepy candy floss while our fire-breathing stilt walkers weave among party goers.

If you’re not averse to donning stockings and suspenders, why not come along to our Rocky Horror Show tribute night in the 235Live Events suite?

In addition to the tribute act revellers will get a glass of bubbly on arrival, a two-course meal and a lesson on their choice of Blackjack or Roulette.

After the show is over you can then come over to Vega Lounge to join everyone else as we rave until the early hours with The Glitter Beats, a fantastic female DJ duo.

If that wasn’t enough we’re still running our weekly Friday and Saturday nights giving gamers and partiers alike the chance to revel in Miami Beach House vibes and party Vegas style.

And for those fortunate enough to earn your living in this wonderful industry, you finally get a chance to have your ‘weekend’ with our Vega Industry Mondays.

See, there’s no excuses not to come down, so what are you waiting for?
