Incoming! Manchester Airport ready for two million more passengers as Ryanair announce four new routes

A whopping 2.1million more passengers will be flooding through the gates at Manchester Airport after Ryanair announced four new routes from the travel hub.

Business workers and holiday-makers will be able to board jets at Manchester Airport and fly to destinations such as Fuerteventura, Barcelona, Gran Canaria and Bologna from March this year.

The added routes mean that Ryanair now has 36 Manchester routes which can carry passengers out of the gloomy North West weather.

Ryanair’s Maria Macken said: She added: “Ryanair is pleased to deliver four new European routes to and from Manchester to Barcelona, Bologna, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria, as well as increased frequencies on five existing routes, which will deliver more than 2.1million passengers per annum.”

By adding to their existing routes across Europe the airline will ensure that 2,100 Manchester jobs will be sustained.

The airlines bosses also claim that more flights will be made available to Manchester passengers on five existing routes – Dublin, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Malaga and Tenerife.

To celebrate the new routes, Ryanair have released 100,000 seats on sale at prices starting from £16.99 for travel in February and March.

The discounted flights are available for booking until midnight January 16.
