Ukip have a ‘woman problem’ and ‘normal minded folk are turning against them’

‘Normal minded folk’ are turning against Ukip, according to an upcoming Parliamentary candidate in Manchester – who also believes Nigel Farage’s party have a ‘woman problem’.

Louise Ankers, who is due to be instated as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Stretford and Urmston, currently believes the party will no longer be dominating the political agenda in the future.

The 35-year-old, who works for an IT company and is a passionate campaigner, also felt that Ukip were detracting females from voting for them.

“Ukip are an interesting one because they’ve done what several parties have done in history all over the world, which is taking the ills of the world and blamed it on one group – in this case immigrants,” she said.

“Now the fact is there are 85% of the country that don’t want to vote for Ukip, there are lots of people saying that the more Ukip come up with nonsense like travelling on the M4 is prevented by immigration, they find that other more normal minded folk are turning against them.”

Louise also believes that Ukip’s downfall may be caused by a problem with women.

Just this week, a female Ukip candidate resigned after claiming Ukip general secretary made unwanted advances against here.

“There is evidence in the polls that women aren’t really attracted to Ukip especially compared to some of the parties and you can see that really,” she said.

“There’s been a sexual harassment story today (interview Tuesday 9th December) when women aren’t getting treated well in the Ukip party and some of the things they have to say on breast feeding and women’s rights is not good. It’s not great for their image amongst women.

“I think they’ve got a little bit of a women problem – not a lot of women in their target group actually vote for them.”

Mrs Ankers believes this has only added to the problems they face.

“I think as we get close to the election and possibly looking on at 2020 and later elections, people will wake up to the fact that Ukip aren’t very nice and aren’t actually offering good, helpful productive suggestions for how we manage Britain,” she said.
