Manchester Film Festival returns with 17 UK and six World Premieres

Manchester movie lovers are gearing up for the 9th annual Manchester Film Festival next month which will bring a selection of movie premieres to the city.

Films starring Nicholas Cage, Timothy Spall and Gemma Arterton will be featured alongside a selection of over 140 more at the Odeon Great Northern from the 10th to the 19th of March.

Highlights include:

WAIT FOR ME, the first feature by local Production Company Old Hall Films, will be having its world premiere at this years event. Following a young girl being dragged into a life of crime after arriving in England.

Music video director Emil Nava, known for his work with Ed Sheeran, Eminem and Calvin Harris, will be premiering SNORKELING, a film about teenage romance and hallucinogenic drugs.

RYE LANE will be making its UK Festival debut at MANIFF, after it’s world premiere at Sundance, and will also have an Audience Q&A with the Cast and Crew post screening.

Along with the over 100 short films made in the UK, a few UK premieres to keep an eye on are:
EVERYTHING I WANTED TO TELL MY DAUGHTER ABOUT MEN follows a woman telling her daughter about the men she’s been with, hoping that she won’t make the same mistakes, 23 short stories by 23 female directors.

ANARCORETA, a horror film about about making an experimental film in the woods, starring Antonia Thomas of The Good Doctor and Misfits fame.

BUTCHER’S CROSSING staring Nicholas Cage follows a Harvard drop out that moves out west and joins a team of Buffalo Hunters and puts his life and sanity at risk.
