Oscar-nominated film to make its debut in Manchester

The Teachers’ Lounge, nominated for Best International Film at the 2024 Oscars, is set to have its Manchester premiere this March.

The premiere will take place at the Manchester Film Festival, which takes place between March 17th and March 24th.

The film is about a teacher named Carla Nowak who decides to get to the bottom of a theft that one of her students is suspected of.

A synopsis for the film reads “Caught between her ideals and the school system, the consequences of her actions threaten to break her.”

The 15 rated film will be aired at 5.30pm at The Odeon Great Northern on Sunday 17th March 2024.

Tickets for the event are on sale now and general admission starts from £8. 

Manchester’s biggest film event will be nine-days long and this year’s return will mark 10 years of the festival, hosted by Great Northern Warehouse.

The Film Festival will highlight the the talents and creativity of independent film makers.

Over 50 films will be premiered across the nine days and ticket bundles are available to buy if you are desperate to see an array of films, shorts, features and premieres.
