‘So many new Travelodges!’ Comic Zoe Lyons excited to kick off UK tour in Salford

Comedian Zoe Lyons will kick off her UK tour with critically acclaimed show Little Misfit at Salford’s Lowry Studio next month.

Lyons, who headlined at Manchester’s Comedy Festival in May last year has recently appeared on Live at the Apollo (BBC2), Channel 4 Comedy Gala, The John Bishop show (BBC1) and Just a Minute (Radio 4), as well as winning the Chortle Best Comic Award.

She took her first steps on the comedy path after training as an actress at the Poor School in London and this year she was nominated as Best Compere at the Chortle Comedy Awards.

At school Lyons never felt part of the gang, being an awkward gay kid with a different accent and quite a severe bout of alopecia.

Thankfully she’s reached that point in her life when the thought of actually fitting in would be utterly terrifying.

“I am really looking forward to hitting the road with my new show, Little Misfit,” she said ahead of the October 5 kick off.

“Revisiting some favourite venues as well as performing in places for the first time. So many new Travelodges to explore, exciting!”

Lyons is a regular on Mock the Week having featured more than any other female panellist.

Other TV appearances include Pointless Celebrities, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, and she was the winner of Celebrity Mastermind.

Radio credits include News Quiz (Radio 4), The Now Show (Radio 4), It’s Not What You Know (Radio 4), The Al Murray Show (Radio 2) and The Frank Skinner show (Absolute Radio).

Lyons has also performed at the Altitude Festival in Austria, the Udderbelly Festival in London, and has hosted the comedy tent at the Latitude Festival.
