Royal Blood’s high-octane performance set to rock Manchester

Royal Blood will arrive in Manchester on the 20th October on their first tour since the release of their new album Back To The Water Below.

The multi-award winning pair will begin their UK tour at the O2 Apollo on 20 October after their 2022 gig was cancelled due to Mike Kerr testing positive for Covid.

The pair formed in 2011 and will hope to bring the combination of Mike Kerr’s vocals and bass prowess and Ben Thatcher’s energetic drumming will hope to stagger the Manchester crowd.

The rock duo’s new album brings the ferocious groove which has made them a staple in the UK rock scene.

Thatcher said: “This record felt more enjoyable than the previous two, just because we got to let loose a little bit with it.

“We have the confidence behind us now [because] we’ve made three other albums.”

Their first self-titled Mercury Prize-nominated album Royal Blood propelled the Brighton-based band to stardom and included tracks such as Figure It Out, Out of the Black and Come on Over.

The band will hope that the tour’s promotion of the album will follow in the vein of their previous three – with all of them reaching number one in the UK charts.

Kerr said: “Typhoons cleared the runway a bit. We proved to ourselves that we can take this band in lots of different directions and we’re more liberated than we realise.”
