Channel 4 to install giant seven-metre piano in heart of Manchester

A giant seven-metre piano will be installed in the Arndale Centre this weekend to celebrate the second series of Channel 4’s The Piano.

Channel 4 is shortly launching the second series of its awarding-winning talent show The Piano hosted by Claudia Winkleman, with music stars Mika and Lang Lang.

To celebrate the launch, a giant seven-metre piano will be installed in the Arndale Centre in Manchester City Centre on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April as well as a concert piano.

You can swing by the Exchange Court and have a go at playing the giant piano installation with your feet, or show what you can do with your hands on the Steinway piano.

There will be a selection of famous faces and exciting performances throughout the weekend.

Celebrity Big Brother winner David Potts will be attending as well as Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter and Love Island star Molly Smith.

After capturing the heart of the nation in 2023, the hunt for a talented pianist returns for seconds.

Claudia, Mika and Lang Lang are once again searching for undiscovered pianists in train stations across the UK.

The series will end with a selection of pianists taking part in a concert at Aviva Studios in Manchester.
