A slice of the action: MM’s top picks for National Pizza Day

In lockdown we are all bored and quite frankly most of us haven’t seen the light of day in weeks.

The latest lockdown has consisted of pizza and Netflix for many of us – but we are all starting to feel a bit guilty and looking for any old excuse to order a pizza.

Luckily National Pizza Day on February 9 is the perfect excuse to get in your comfies, bang the TV on and indulge.

MM has rounded up the best places in Manchester to grab a slice of Italian heaven.

  1.  Dominos

Everyone’s ‘go to’ choice and to be honest I don’t blame you – it’s a safe bet and there’s plenty of choose from. Dominos offer a wide range of bases and toppings and you can even make your own custom pizza with a delivery too! So you don’t even need to step out of your front door.

Due to covid-19 Dominos aren’t accepting cash payments to keep their staff safe

2) Rudy’s Neapolitan Pizza – Ancoats

Rudy’s has exceptional ratings with a 4.5 out of 5 rating on Trip Advisor and is currently offering deliveries straight to your door via Deliveroo. The prices of Rudy’s are reasonable and they offer meal deals. If you want to try something new this is great place to look at.

One review said: “Ordered from here a couple of times and now they make a really delicious pizza for prices not much different than a fast food pizza place. The menu is small but there is something for everyone.”

3) Crazy Pedro’s – Northern Quarter

If you’re looking for somewhere a bit different and you’re looking for a cocktail to wash it down with then this is the place to go. Crazy Pedro’s offer a wide range of alcoholic beverages from beers to a whole range of fruity frozen margaritas.

The pizzas all have wacky names to partner the wacky flavours that accompany them such as Wacko Jacko, The Godfather PT.1, Can’t Cook Won’t Cluck and many more.

If you want to try a new flavour of pizza and something that is a bit out there this is the place to go.

Sadly Crazy Pedros is closed right now – maybe next year.

4) Proove pizza – West Didsbury

Proove is your classic Italian restaurant offering a plethora of Italian dishes including the authentic Italian style pizza done right.

The list of pizzas on offer is never-ending and they look mouth-watering. They also cater for the vegans of the world with special pizzas.

Let’s be honest, convenience is key when we are ordering out food and Proove offer this on Deliveroo so your food will be there in no time.

Not only do they offer a huge range of Italian dishes but also a huge list of alcohol from your favourite Italian wines to the most refreshing beers. We all know a pizza is best paired with a good beverage.

5) Gino D’Acampo My Pizza & Prosecco Bar – City Centre

We all know the well known Television chef and personality Gino D’Acampo. We’ve all seen him make a jaw dropping Italian style pizza and been longing to get a slice. Well, now you can at his restaurant opposite the Printworks in the city centre. Sadly as we can’t sit in and have a glass of bubbly with our pizza we all have to do the next best thing and order it in and yet again Deliveroo is here to save the day.

If you aren’t feeling pizza you are more than welcome to order pasta or even a steak from the 4.2 rated restaurant.

Only eight pizzas are offered but this is more than enough to satisfy your tastebuds.
