Vogue Fashion’s Night Out: Designer royalty descend to mark Manchester’s fashion credentials

Manchester fashionistas will get the chance to indulge their passion for fashion at Vogue Fashion’s Night Out which will hit the city next week.

For the first time in five years Vogue fashion journalists will take a designer-clad step out of London and bring the celebration to the fashion capital of the north next Thursday.

Manchester-born designer Matthew Williamson, celebrity chef Aldo Zilli, The Maccabees and writer/DJ Jameela Jamil will attend the plethora of events taking place across the city.

Jane Sharrocks, General Manager of Selfridges Exchange Square said: “Once at the heart of a vibrant textiles industry, Manchester’s importance to fashion is unquestionable.

“Bringing Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out to Manchester is the next logical step in the evolution of the event in the UK.

“Other cities around the world have welcomed thousands of shoppers to join in the fun and we’re thrilled to be the newest host.” 

Shoppers will get the chance to meander around the city’s major stores while enjoying complementary drinks, beauty treats and live music.

The full itinerary is listed below:

Flannels 

Spinningfields will host an exclusive evening with Manchester-born designer Matthew Williamson where guests will get the opportunity to meet the famed designer and chat to him about his AW13 collection.

Harvey Nichols 

The Manchester store will be celebrating Fashion’s Night Out as well as its 10th birthday party from 6pm-10pm.

Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman and Harvey Nichols Fashion Director, Paula Reed will be at an exclusive Q&A session at 9pm.

Selfridges

The iconic yellow van will be parked in Exchange Square with a surprise celebrity guest selling the official Fashion’s Night Out T-Shirts.

Keep a look out around the city for a Selfridges host giving out a gift card loaded with a mystery amount from £5 – £50 (while stocks last).

Treats in store will also include a hair braiding and temporary tattoo pop up bar, pop-up food cart serving everything from vodka snowcones to crepes and mini doughnuts while DJ Jameela Jamil will work the decks on level 3.

Dune

Manchester Arndale presents a live illustrator in store sketching the event, in association with Scriberia.

Gap 

They will be celebrating at their St. Ann Street store where revellers are invited to come instore where street style photographer from fashion blog, The Mancorialist, will be capturing shoppers in and around the Gap store.

House of Fraser 

The store will be hosting Fashion’s Night Out Café by the award-winning Cicchetti restaurant and hosted by celebrity chef Aldo Zilli, who will be serving up a menu of limited edition Fashion’s Night Out dishes.

They will also be exhibiting some of Vogue’s most iconic cover shoots through the decades.

BOSS 

Once the VIP launch party has ended, from 7.30pm people will get the opportunity to hear a DJ set by fashion’s favourite, Princess Julia.

Vivienne Westwood 

The store is set to launch an exciting new product range with an exclusive brand collaboration seen for the first time in Vivienne Westwood’s flagship for the North on Spring Gardens, at the top of King Street.

Kurt Geiger

Vogue’s Executive Retail Editor, Ginnie Chadwyck-Healey will be sharing the A/W trends while Nails Inc will be on hand providing mini manicures in the must-have new season shades.

Topshop

The Manchester Arndale store will be a celebrating with a new season trend talk and Q&A with their Creative Director and Vogue’s Contributing Fashion Editor, Kate Phelan.

Nail and make-up artists will be on hand throughout the night providing expert beauty consultations on the key new season looks.

Mulberry 

The Spinningfields store is opening after hours to welcome guests for champagne and canapés as they browse the AW13 collection.

Guests will also have the opportunity to have Essie manicures while listening to live music as they shop.

Reiss

Celebrating at their Shambles store there will be a guest DJ, cocktails from The Alchemist plus hair styling by Trevor Sorbie.

Russell & Bromley 

Jessica Nails will be in store offering free manicures on the evening in their new autumnal colour palette.

A luxury gift bag will be received with every purchase on the night, while Hey Little Cupcake treats will also be on offer.

Hey Little Cupcake

Fashion’s Night Out cupcake will be available as part of Vogue Eats on King Street, and Whistles, Russell & Bromley, Superdry and Ted Baker (Selfridges concession).
