Second-hand clothing supermarket success leads to extended Salford stay

The UK’s first second-hand clothing supermarket will extend its stay in Salford due to overwhelming demand.

Showcasing fashion collections from second-hand retailers, the Charity Super.Mkt has sold more than 6,500 items in its six week tenure, raising £52,000 for local charities.

Co-founder Wayne Hemingway MBE said: “The response to the first Charity Super.Mkt in the north has been phenomenal.

“We’re taking similar revenues to mainstream retailers which is a clear indication that there is a big change in the world, charity clothes have real appeal and people are buying with purpose in mind.

“We’d like to keep encouraging everyone to bring down their unwanted items so that we can keep raising vital funds for the charities involved.”
